The Medical Devices School in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has 7 undergraduate majors, Biomedical Engineering which includes Medical Electronic Instruments, Precision Medical Devices and Medical Device Quality And Safety Direction, Medical Imaging Technology, Medical Information Engineering, Rehabilitation Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Food Quality and Safety. Biomedical Engineering was approved as the first national first-class undergraduate majors in 2019. The school has complete experimental facilities and advanced equipment. With an area of 9,000 square meters and fixed assets of 120 million yuan, it has more than 50 laboratories for Biomedical Engineering, Chemicals And Pharmaceuticals and Food Science And Engineering. In 2018, it was approved as Shanghai Medical Device Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
